Tamima
Ali,
born and raised in Mandera, Kenya.
Married with three children; two boys, and a girl, Tamima has a decade experience in Human Resources Management, Program and Project management, Extensive experience in Refugee processing and
resettlement, internally displaced persons and community development. She worked with various international
humanitarian organizations such as the United
Nations Children Fund (UNICEF)
and CARE International in Kenya.
In addition, Tamima
has worked with the State of Arizona
and International
Rescue Committee in Arizona
and Maryland, USA. A licensed Clinical
Social Worker with State of Arizona, Tamima
has a Bachelor’s of Business Management
(University of Phoenix), dual masters in Social Work and Public
Administration (Arizona State University) and a postgraduate Diploma in Global Mental Health – Refugee Trauma and
Recovery (Harvard Medical School). Tamima is currently the Chief of Staff for the Governor, Mandera County Government.
Tamima’s
major dream for Mandera include access to health services and availability of
supplies to help women become resilient. “Women
are care givers, educators, farmers, and entrepreneurs. Investing in their
health, education and wellbeing pays social and economic dividends and will
lead to a properous county,” she says
